Nedstrand Local Museum

This museum is located in Nedstrand Youth House at Baustad. The house was built in 1913 and has its own history as a meeting place for inumerable societes and organisations up to 1992. Small exhibitions from work and daily life around 1900 put together by items from the Vatland Collection, named after the local collector Ommund Vatland. In a separate room we find the Kirkebø Collection, a complete doctor’s office, which is exactly as it was when Jon Kirkebø, a district doctor in Nedstrand 1925-1949 received his patients. The doctor’s district included at that time large parts of Vindafjord and Suldal communities. Nedstrand Local Museum also includes Nessa school house which has been moved to the recreation area Leira.

Haugalandmuseene er regionmuseum for Nord-Rogaland - et museum som inviterer til utfordrende møter med lokal, nasjonal og internasjonal kultur
