The Hilta House
The Hilta House is situated at the island Røvær. The History Society of this island owns the house which is said be the oldest building at Røvær. From 1880 it was used as the school of the island. The name refers to the last family who lived there.
Today the house has been restored and has been equipped with old furniture and other items which reflect life in old times. In one of the rooms the Røvær catastrophy (1899) is commemorated with an exhibition.
Røvær is a part of Haugesund municipality. The ferry from Haugesund quayside takes you there in 30 minutes.
