The Arquebus War Museum

Arquebus is a regional defense  museum documenting and communicating WW2 incidences

which took place in Northern Rogaland and Southern Hordaland. The museum is located in a previous factory close to E 134 between Haugesund and Aksdal. The name Arquebus was the code name of a well known resistance man, Sverre Andersen.

The museum has exhibitions showing daily life during the war, the resistance movement, the German occupation troops, seamen at war, and the liberation.

There are also exhibitions commemorating the 50-year-anniversary of the Home Guard and the 100-year anniversary of the Coastal Artillery.

The museum owns a big collection of cannons and vehicles. Many of the vehicles can still be driven.

The museum is run by volunteers.
